Suno Recruits Execs from Atlantic and YouTube to Smooth Over Industry Relations

July 7, 2026·1 min read

The AI music conversation just got a lot more corporate. Suno, the highly controversial AI music generation start-up, is actively trying to build bridges with the very industry it disrupted. To lead this charm offensive, the company has hired two major players with deep industry roots to step into vice president roles. Grace James, formerly of Atlantic Records, joins Suno as the new vice president and head of artist marketing and editorial. Alongside her, former YouTube executive Christian Bowne comes on board to help steer the ship. Both hires represent a strategic play by Suno to establish formal partnerships with traditional music labels and artists who have previously viewed the technology with skepticism. Whether these major hires can actually mend fences between tech-driven creators and traditional music purists remains to be seen. Keep an eye on this.
