Steve Lacy Returns With His Third Studio Album 'Oh yeah?'
Four years after "Bad Habit" dominated your feeds and pushed him into Grammy-winning territory, Steve Lacy is finally back. The Compton native has officially dropped his third studio album, *Oh yeah?*, via RCA Records. According to a thread on Hip Hop Heads, the 10-track project marks a massive shift for the multi-instrumentalist, who reportedly cut much of the record in Paris with a clear head, placing his lyrics right at the center of the stage instead of letting the beats do all the heavy lifting. The album builds on the sonic pivots we first tasted on "Nice Shoes" last summer, which threw fans for a loop with its frenetic breakbeat. *Oh yeah?* takes those experimental risks and runs with them, blending trip-hop murk and crude-almost-crisp production with Lacy's signature alt-soul guitar plucking. He is not traveling this new terrain alone either. The tracklist boasts heavy-hitting guest spots from SZA on "Is It Cool?," Erykah Badu on "Pure Colour," and Cecile Believe on "Lovesexdrugbomb." This is the most direct, personal writing we have ever heard from Lacy. Check it out below.
