Slayr Announces New 'Avant Nova' EP and Headlining Tour

The Philadelphia underground has a major storm brewing. Nineteen-year-old rapper Slayr is keeping his foot on the gas, officially announcing that his new EP, *Avant Nova*, is scheduled to drop this Friday. According to Pitchfork, the project's opening track, "Promise," features production from electronic artist Underscores. The drop date puts him in direct competition with heavy hitters like Future and Ken Carson, but Slayr has spent the last few months sharpening his skills on festival stages at Rolling Loud Orlando and Summer Smash. This new six-track effort follows his November mixtape, *Half Blood*, which got a massive 10-song deluxe expansion called *BloodLuxe* back in March. If the title *Avant Nova* sounds familiar, it is likely connected to *Fabula Nova*, another project the teen rapper has been teasing. Slayr is also taking this momentum straight to the road, launching his first North American headlining tour this August, which kicks off in Seattle and wraps up in September.
