Shaboozey Expands His Outlaw Universe with ‘Cowgirl’

June 9, 2026·1 min read

Shaboozey continues his pivot from Virginia hip-hop to high-concept Americana with the visual for ‘Cowgirl.’ Directed by Logan Meis and the artist himself, the video stars Ciara Miller as a grieving gunslinger navigating a lawless saloon five days after the death of Sheriff Lee. It is a cinematic expansion of the narrative threads first teased in ‘Born To Die,’ trading standard music video tropes for the grit of a Spaghetti Western. The track serves as a cornerstone for his upcoming concept album, ‘Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going.’ While his previous work played with the intersection of trap and folk, this era finds him fully committed to the role of the wandering troubadour. By casting Miller as a hardened protagonist rather than a background fixture, Shaboozey reinforces the character-driven storytelling that is quickly becoming his signature. ‘Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going’ arrives May 31 via EMPIRE and American Dogwood.
