Rory Reveals He Suffered Multiple Strokes Prior to Surgery
Rory Farrell, co-host of the popular podcast New Rory & Mal, has revealed he survived a terrifying medical emergency. According to a report by HotNewHipHop, Farrell shared on a recent episode of his podcast that he suffered multiple strokes a couple of weekends ago, initially mistaking the severe symptoms for a bout of vertigo. The health scare began while Farrell was attempting to attend a Jay-Z pop-up event in Dumbo, Brooklyn. He experienced extreme dizziness, projectile vomiting, and temporary paralysis of his limbs. After waiting out the initial physical breakdown in his car, he actually attended the event, though he now has no memory of it. Farrell continued to experience strokes over the following days before finally seeking medical attention. Hospital doctors confirmed the strokes, leading to an immediate surgery. Farrell, a prominent figure in the hip-hop media landscape since his days on the Joe Budden Podcast, used his platform to urge listeners—particularly men, who often neglect medical warning signs—to take their health seriously and seek immediate care. While he managed to find humor in the situation, joking that the hospital's MRI machine sounded like Frank Ocean's Blonde, the reality of the situation is incredibly sober. Podcasting is a grueling, highly demanding industry of constant output, but no brand or event is worth ignoring a life-threatening emergency. Farrell is currently on the mend and recovering from the procedure.
