New Balance Resurrects Its Ultimate Luxury Runner With The Made in USA 2040v5
New Balance is reaching back into the vault to bring back one of its most expensive, high-end performance lines. According to a report by Hypebeast, the brand has officially unveiled the Made in USA 2040v5, resurrecting a premium lineage that first stepped onto the scene back in 2012. This isn't your average lifestyle retro; it is a heavy-duty showcase of domestic manufacturing that sits right at the top of the brand's luxury offerings. Constructed with a premium nubuck upper in a Castlerock, Mood Indigo, and Blacktop colorway, the 2040v5 is built for texture and durability. Underneath, the tech is completely loaded. New Balance packed a full-length carbon fiber plate into the sole for rigid stability, then layered the midsole with FuelCell foam, ABZORB SBS, and ENCAP cushioning. It is a serious mix of eras designed to give you maximum shock absorption. The New Balance Made in USA 2040v5 drops in North America on August 20, 2026, for a steep $400 USD, followed by a global release in May 2027. Four bills is a lot of money for sneakers, but some of us actually care about craftsmanship.
