Jim Jones Claims His Catalog Beats 90 Percent of New York Rappers
Jim Jones is always going to give you a headline. The Harlem veteran recently sat down on the No Funny Sh*t podcast to address his career standing, and he did not hold back. When asked about a Verzuz challenge he threw at his fellow Diplomat Cam'ron back in May, Jimmy admitted he was mostly trolling, but used the moment to make a massive claim about his own musical legacy. According to reporting by Billboard, Capo declared that his discography stacks up against anyone in his hometown. "I got a better catalog than over 90 percent of the rappers out of New York City in history," Jones said, pointing to his gold albums and platinum singles as proof. He noted that while it doesn't make him better than anyone on a skill level, the statistics don't lie, claiming he can easily run through 20 hit records that shook the city. This isn't the first time the Dipset rapper has stirred the pot regarding his legacy. Last year, he had to defend himself after a viral clip showed a college student claiming he was more relevant than Nas, a take that earned him major pushback before he admitted to Angie Martinez that he underestimated the Queens legend's fanbase. Still, Jimmy is standing ten toes down on his hits. Check it out below.
