I'm up early looking at the charts and Esme Emerson just caught my eye. Their song 'Jackie' just slid onto Spotify’s #NowWatching playlist at #18. Had to do a double-take. Turns out they're a British-Chinese brother-sister duo from Suffolk who’ve already shared stages with The Japanese House. They just dropped their *Applesauce* EP on Communion Records, and the synergy is crazy. It's that ethereal, twitchy indie-pop that sneaks up on you.
