Winnipeg’s Ami Cheon is officially on my radar. Her track "aries baby" just grabbed the coveted #1 spot on Spotify’s Fresh Finds Pop, plus a neat #46 placement on the main Fresh Finds playlist. This Japanese/Korean Canadian singer-songwriter and producer went from self-teaching on a donated church piano to crafting some of the cleanest alt-R&B/pop out of Canada. Her debut EP, aries baby, drops July 31, 2026, via ADA. Trust me, you want to get on this wave early.
