Atlanta's Fatt Smaxk Gets Real About Mental Health & New Album 'Smack Season 3: Banks House'

By GQ·August 14, 2026·1 min read

Thomasville Heights has a new voice putting the neighborhood on the map. Atlanta rapper Fatt Smaxk is currently ringing bells across the city, riding the wave of his viral TikTok hit "Butta B"—a raw tribute to his late brother that took off without any polished rollout. Now, with his upcoming album *Smack Season 3: Banks House* scheduled to drop on August 20th, the rising artist is opening up about the real tax that comes with sudden visibility. During a sit-down with Hot 107.9 – Hot Spot ATL on *MiAsia in The Midday*, Smaxk bypassed the usual industry flexes to talk about his internal battles. He admitted to struggling with communication and sometimes just finding happiness, describing an emotional fatigue that comes with watching the people around you change. The rapper also got incredibly blunt about the financial pressure from old acquaintances, noting that his phone only rings when someone needs money. To protect his peace, Smaxk is actively shifting his environment, choosing to travel and surround himself with positive energy. Fame doesn't cure a heavy mind. Watch the interview below.
