Cardi B Maps Out a Move to the Spanish Market

April 15, 2026·1 min read

Cardi B has confirmed plans to record a full Spanish-language project once her long-awaited sophomore English album is delivered. During a recent tour stop in Charlotte, the Bronx-born rapper leaned into her Dominican heritage, telling the crowd she intends to pivot toward the Latin market to capture the global momentum of the genre. "I speak money in English and Spanish," she noted, framing the move as both a cultural homecoming and a strategic business expansion. While Cardi has previously dominated the Latin charts with features like the 2018 'I Like It' and her appearance on Ozuna’s 'La Modelo,' this would mark her first cohesive body of work in the space. The decision follows a 2024 social media poll where nearly 80 percent of her fanbase signaled support for the transition. By securing her domestic footing before crossing over, Cardi is positioning herself to bridge the gap between U.S. hip-hop and the explosive reggaeton and dembow scenes in a way few bilingual artists have successfully sustained.
