2 Chainz Booked to Headline MLBPA, Fanatics and Topps Players Party in Philadelphia
Major League Baseball is leaning on hip-hop royalty to anchor its biggest off-field celebration of the summer. Atlanta veteran 2 Chainz has been tapped to perform at the exclusive Players Party on July 13 at The Fillmore in Philadelphia. The invite-only affair, hosted by the Major League Baseball Players Association, Fanatics, and Topps, kicks off at 10 p.m. ET immediately following the MLB Home Run Derby at Citizens Bank Park. For the 48-year-old rapper and former college basketball player, the booking represents a lucrative intersection of sports licensing and corporate entertainment. 2 Chainz previously aligned with the league during the 2025 MLB All-Star Week, fronting a campaign for a limited-edition capsule collection that paired Jerry Lorenzo's Fear of God with the MLB to honor Atlanta's sports history. This booking is a reminder of how deeply embedded 2 Chainz's catalog remains in the sports world. Chicago Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong still uses the 2017 hit "It's a Vibe" as his walk-up music. The single, which peaked at No. 44 on the Billboard Hot 100, remains a licensing powerhouse years after its release on the Pretty Girls Like Trap Music LP. Currently on the road supporting Lil Wayne on the 20 Years of Carter Classics tour, 2 Chainz is maintaining a rigorous schedule that balances high-paying corporate gigs with legacy hip-hop tours. The Players Party will run until 2 a.m. ET on July 13.
